While energy modeling analyses have become increasingly important to driving energy performance within the green building industry, the efficiency of transferring the resulting data is still fairly poor. In particular, filling out LEED Online template forms represents significant time for design teams and present opportunities for errors as data is manually sorted and transcribed, sometimes several times throughout a project’s lifespan.

That’s why we built the COMNET Energy Modeling Portal, one of the first LEED automation tools to hit the market.

‘Watershed Event’ Explores What’s Next for Green in the Codes

An impressive collection of the building code glitterati gathered a couple of weeks ago for our inaugural Codes Summit at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. All together, more than 350 wonks, experts, specialists, professionals, advocates and other stakeholders participated in the summit held in San Francisco. Through a total of 19 hours of programming and discussion, we explored the next horizons in our community’s efforts to advance green building through the codes.

What I am Thankful for…

In the United States, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of each November. While the holiday originates in early American history/folklore, the tradition of remembering things for which you are grateful lives on. Despite my strong urges against writing something ‘cheesy’ on this ubiquitous theme, I feel it is imperative to reflect upon an observation from last week, something for which I am truly thankful.
