Continuing Education (CE) hours from Greenbuild 2011 sessions have been reported to GBCI and uploaded to Credential Maintenance Program accounts. All LEED Professionals who attended Greenbuild should log onto their My Credentials account to see if their courses have been successfully reported. Check in the ‘Pending CMP Activity’ section.

Center Spotlight: Pat Lane, USGBC Students Program Lead
Pat oversees USGBC Students, which recruits, connects and equips the next generation of green building leaders by empowering them to transform their campuses, communities and careers. In his role, Pat leads the effort and growth of the USGBC Students program and works directly with students to assist them in integrating sustainability themes into their coursework, advocating for sustainable university practices and policies and working toward becoming LEED accredited professionals.

Who Cares About Better Buildings? A Diverse Group of Companies Answer, “We Do!”
As a movement, we knew we had come a long way when President Obama announced the Better Buildings Initiative in February, establishing the goal of slashing energy consumption in commercial buildings 20 percent by 2020. Groups like USGBC, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), and the Real Estate Roundtable (RER) applauded the plan.

HOK & USGBC Working Together to Build LEED Children’s Center in Haiti
USGBC’s close collaborators in Project Haiti, global architectural firm HOK, have published a series of blog entries on their efforts to design the first LEED Platinum orphanage and children’s center in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The hustle and bustle of Greenbuild 2011 is now behind us, and we’ve all returned to our respective homes and jobs to continue “troublemaking.”
And one area where we need to continue to stir the pot is green jobs. On the Tuesday of Greenbuild, we convened a Green Jobs Summit of more than 40 prominent experts throughout the clean energy economy to brainstorm the successes and challenges experienced in the promotion of the green jobs agenda.
