The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study recently achieved LEED-NC v3 Gold certification for its renovation of the historic Fay House, making it the oldest LEED certified building in the United States (the oldest LEED building in the world was built in 1453 and is located in Venice, Italy).
The newest version of the LEED green building rating system closes ballot and moves toward an official market launch at Greenbuild.
I am pleased to announce that the final results of the LEED v4 ballot are in. To pass, the rating systems needed 66.7% of the vote to be in favor of the new system. With a final tally of 86%, we met our goal and more! This includes:

Washington, D.C. — (June 28, 2013) — In an effort to accelerate sustainable development around the world, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), creators of the LEED® green building rating system, is adding a new layer to its LEED Earth campaign to offer free LEED certification to the first Platinum projects that certify using the new version of LEED. This new component will encourage and reward optimum, cutting-edge green building practices globally.
Today we released “Health is a Human Right. Green Building Can Help,” a report from USGBC’s Green Building & Human Health Summit earlier this year that explores ways to promote and protect human health in relation to the built environment. More than 100 people contributed to the robust conversation, and we’ve attempted to summarize their thoughtful comments here.
Several new and interesting pilot credits have been added to the LEED Pilot Credit Library in the past few months, many proposed by USGBC members.
