Building Materials & Resources in the LEED 2012 Draft to Focus on Life Cycle Analysis and More Transparent Product Information

Washington, D.C. (September 13, 2011) – The U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) next update to the LEED green building program, coined LEED 2012, will include updates to the Materials & Resources (MR) credit category. The updates reflect thousands of write-in comments received through the first LEED public comment period and include changes to existing LEED credit categories as well as two new credit categories, Integrated Process (IP) and Performance (PF).

President Obama Announces $25 Billion For Improving Schools

Last night, President Obama made a monumental announcement – his proposed American Jobs Act will provide $25 billion for school construction and modernize over 35,000 school buildings. If this bill is passed, it would not only put thousands of teachers back to work, it would allow us to make desperately needed improvements in schools across the country, including energy-efficiency upgrades and comprehensive, green retrofits.
