What would Rachel Carson do?
That’s the mantra behind the School of Sustainability and Environment at Chatham University, the alma mater of Silent Spring author and environmental activist (and our superhero) Rachel Carson.

From redwood trees to adaptive reuse, San Francisco is chock full of incredible sights – green buildings and beyond. At USGBC’s annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, located in San Francisco this year, you can sample from two dozen tours of buildings (and much more), specially curated by San Fran insiders.
Each year, Greenbuild offers attendees more than 150 educational opportunities.
Beyond the practical learning and CEU credits, however, it’s the exchange of ideas, casual dialogue and new expo products that spark excitement and inspiration among attendees.

The Greenbuild Newsroom is up and running! Exhibitors looking to enhance their visibility can seamlessly upload company and product news and information to the Newsroo…
My first conference was the Bass Fishing Conference (probably not the formal name). I was in college and was supporting the Conferences division of Continuing Education. My boss told me a coworker met her husband at one of our conferences. At 18, I wasn’t interested in a husband just yet but I did end up falling in love…with events.
We’ve all been there — stuck in the back of that ominous, windowless, freezing conference room with presenters droning on from behind their table for what seems like an eternity. After a while, the lectures begin to sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher.
Greenbuild is finally making its way to San Francisco this November – and us Bay Area locals are really excited. The conference theme is aptly “@ Greenbuild,” referencing the mindboggling array of Internet and technology companies headquartered here in the Bay Area. The big names include Google, Yahoo, Twitter (who’s co-founder, Biz Stone, will join us at the Greenbuild opening plenary), LinkedIn, Yelp, and YouTube.
