World Green Building Week Kicks off Across the Globe

USGBC joins countries celebrating green building & communities

Washington, DC – (September 20, 2011) – Countries around the world are kicking off World Green Building Week, and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is doing its part by helping move the green economy debate forward, locally and globally, through its participation in a series of events this fall. As a whole, the events support USGBC’s efforts to make green cities and buildings pillars of sustainable economic development in all regions of the world.

Building Materials & Resources in the LEED 2012 Draft to Focus on Life Cycle Analysis and More Transparent Product Information

Washington, D.C. (September 13, 2011) – The U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) next update to the LEED green building program, coined LEED 2012, will include updates to the Materials & Resources (MR) credit category. The updates reflect thousands of write-in comments received through the first LEED public comment period and include changes to existing LEED credit categories as well as two new credit categories, Integrated Process (IP) and Performance (PF).
